A 2025 Reflection for Christian Women Waiting on the Lord

Reader, as 2025 reaches its conclusion, many of us find ourselves in a familiar place of waiting. Waiting for clarity. Waiting for healing. Waiting for the one whom the Lord deems worthy of our hearts. Waiting for purpose, direction, or fulfillment of prayers we prayed for years. Waiting can feel like we are standing still. Yet Scripture reminds us of the truth: waiting is not standing still; it is time filled with the opportunity to grow and be refined. It is the time where the Lord does some of His deepest work within us.

Waiting also reveals what we believe about the Lord. Do we trust Him only when He fulfills the desires of our hearts, or do we trust Him when those desires seem delayed or arrive in a way we did not expect? One of my husband’s favorite verses is a reminder of why we can trust the Lord with our wait journey. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” It is important to note the use of the words, “my path” in this verse. Your path is not going to be identical to another’s path; therefore, your story will never be the same as someone else’s story. The Lord lights the path He has for you to walk down, and He does it step by step.

Take the time to pause and reflect on the following question:

  • What word is the Lord speaking to me about my path as I get ready to close the book on 2025?

As we bring that question before the Lord, let us not focus on how this year we may not have received the gift(s) of long-awaited desires being fulfilled, but instead let us focus on the women we have become while trusting Him in the waiting. Perhaps you learned to pray more honestly, to rest more deeply, or to trust God beyond your comfort zone. Perhaps you learned to stop comparing your path negatively with others. Perhaps your desires have shifted, aligning more closely with His desires for you.

This refining of our desires prepares our hearts to move forward in confidence to 2026, knowing that our hope is secured in God’s unchanging character. He is good. He is attentive. He is never late. The same God who sustained you through 2025 will walk with you into the new year. Continue to bring your desires before Him.

Remember as you step into 2026 how waiting on the Lord is part of the beautiful, powerful story He is writing in your life. And as the Lord lights your path, have faith, courage, and peace, trusting that the Lord will fulfill the desires He has placed within you in His perfect time.

Pause and reflect on the question below as we prepare to enter 2026:

  • What is the next step on my path that the Lord wants me to take at the beginning of 2026?
